Mohenjo Daro : trailer review

So, the trailer of the most awaited movie in recent times, ‘MOHENJO DARO’ is out and all set to hit 5M views in youtube within a day. It’s directed by ‘Ashutosh gowarikar’ (maker of Lagan and jodha akbar) casting ‘Hrithik roshan’ and ‘Pooja hegde’ in the lead roles.

Without further ado, let’s get to the business. The trailer looks super stunning with the VFX, Hrithik roshan’s  Agneepath looks, Pooja’s charm and most importantly “MR.AR RAHMAN’S” music. My God the background score overthrows everything, you can hear it all day!!…it’s just as it should be to an Historic movie. yes, it is an historic movie revolving around the period of ‘Indus valley civilization’. Mohenjo daro literally means ‘mound of the dead’. The trailer looks promising until this one point ,where u might get the feel that, ‘is it the same old ‘hero-mother land’ sentiment along with some cheesy moments with heroine and finally a war defending the people from the stupid king’?? I guess it’s not. It’s really unfair that people are already comparing it with ‘Gladiator to Bahubali to Troy to everything’….

9ce552b8-984e-4add-b942-6b0fc404dc96The story might look familiar, but tell me ‘which story doesn’t relate to another one these days’??… You got to appreciate the efforts in making an Historical movie. Hrithik looks decent in his performance . Talking about the VFX, u might feel that they’ve taken it a bit far sometimes, but still the scene in which the ‘Crocodile flies over Hrithik’ is thrilling to watch. These kind of movies would either turn EPIC or hit the  ground.  you never know what’s coming for you.

From Dilwale to FAN,  Shandar to Udta Punjab Bollywood is full of Awesomeness and Awfulness . At times, it has never failed to surprise us!! As i said, ‘you never know what’s coming for u’… sit back and hope for the best!!!

so this was our views on the trailer, Do let us know your thoughts in the comment section…

Gud day!

Actual signs that our kannada industry is growing!

Kannada industries had always suffered from producing quality movies. We could see only romantic love stories with same old fashioned concepts. It had been repetitive and got boring.Lot of people thought we lacked originality and everyone knew investment was an issue.Making an high budget Kannada movie was a challenge and nobody dared to do it.Watching Telugu or Tamil movies became a new trend to Kannadigas.

At a severe time like this where romantic old concepts ruled our industry.Few of the debutantes came forward to save what we had lost. They showed us even with low budget Kannada movies, a great show could be produced. These are the movies that i think revived a long lost quality of Kannada movies.

Movie written and directed by Anup Bhandari in his debut, and produced by H. K. Prakash. It features debutantes Nirup Bhandari, Avantika Shetty and Radhika Chethan and Saikumar in the lead roles.

The movie starts with a mysterious house in ‘Kamarottu’,and then arcs like life of Gautam and Indu, serial killings of pregnant women, Sindhu’s search of an author who goes by the name akankshu, disappearance of Indu and it goes on until all the arcs gets connected and explanations are given to the viewer at climax which makes it a masterpiece.

This had multiple genres included in it and was not just a thriller movie or just an horror movie with jumpscares. There was mystery, showcase of rich culture.Every main character has a good character development,a past story and Anup has successfully connected all the loops brilliantly at the end of the Movie. It’s a worth watch.

I feel this movie created a strong base for all other thriller based Kannada movies in Kannada and sets a great example how it should be done.

U Turn

U Turn Kannada Movie Review

U Turn is a Kannada Horror Movie with elements of suspense, written, produced and directed by Pawan Kumar. It stars Shraddha Srinath in the lead role. Roger Narayan, Dilip Raj and Radhika Chetan feature in supporting roles.

I feel that the first half of the movie competes with plots of any Hollywood thriller movie.First it’s a normal life of Shraddha as an intern in a English newspaper  who does her normal job routine working over an issue of people taking illegal U Turn on a flyover, without her knowledge gets into unusual turn of events. There’s not a second you would wanna miss the story line as it’s well-scripted and unusual turn of events takes the story line twisted and gets you thinking.

I don’t really like the second half of the movie as expected thriller turns into an horror movie which gets me disappointed but as overall it’s a great movie you would never wanna miss.

Thithi  is a  Kannada-language drama film co-written and directed by Ram Reddy. Consisting of a cast of non-professional actors from villages in the Mandya district.

The story has been  narrated so well that makes you feel it’s something which is going on infront of your own eyes as it’s a depiction of lifestyle of typical Indian villagers. The film creates its own world that grabs you and creates a sensual relationship with the viewer.

Director ‘Ram Reddy’ has managed so wonderful to get that natural touch to all the characters. It feels so original because of which you forget that you are infact watching a Movie. Kudos to all the actors for that amazing screen presence and yeah all of them are debutantes and nobody knew real acting.

I don’t want to give any spoilers but a quick brief about the story line. As the name suggests ‘THITHI’ (part of rituals after death), it shows the mindsets of 3 different generation during that period of 11 days between death and thithi. Infact 4 different generations,,Err there’s a little ambiguity about that one extra generation, which is not completely depicted in the movie and that’s the curious case.
It’s funny, it’s thrilling, it’s based on real events.

Godhi Banna Sadarana Mykattu

Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu(GBSM) is a movie written and directed by Hemanth M Rao and it’s his debut. The movie stars Ananthnag, Rakshit Shetty, Sruthi Hariharan, Vashishta N Simha, Achyuth Kumar.

This movie plays with viewers emotion and its wonderfully crafted. The story revolves around Venkob Rao, who is an Alzheimer’s patient living in an old-age home in Bengaluru.Shivu his son being a workaholic wants to move to US and find a job there. But Venkob goes missing after a day out with his Son Shiva. Shiva and Dr Sahana, who’s monitoring Venkob’s health goes on search for him but Venkob lands himself in the middle of a murder scene and his life is at stake.

This movie talks about present day situation of old parents and their emotions towards their workaholic children. There’s comedy which makes you laugh there’s intense emotion which makes you feel sad for the characters.SO finally this Movie is  an epitome of morality with an happy ending. Ananth nag kills it again as he is used to it and i believe that he is a serious contender for the National award.

Movies like Ulidavaru kandanthe and karvva are also few honorable mentions for a great story line and screenplay! so do give them a watch.

So from these well-scripted movies i can say that these are the signs that our Kannada industry is growing.I highly recommend all these movies and we need to encourage debutantes to produce quality movies. And all these movies are a Super Hit even though some are very low budget films this shows that we Kannadigas would never let a good movie go unrecognized and we just strive for quality movies!!

These are some awesome movies our sandalwood is proud of.If we missed any don’t hesitate to mention,Do leave a comment.

I can’t have blue eyes,
fair skin and silver hairs now
its too late I’m already born

oh how stupid i was, it wasn’t you
reflections on the water
that’s what i was starin at
its too late I’m already blind

clouds don’t weep these days
they don’t even wiggle
i gotta make it for them baby is it too late ?
The sun stopped shining and the moon, lullaby
i gotta shine and sing to cover up baby
is it too late ?

I can still be the best
no! I’ll swear you I’ll be
its not too late
you can always change

i can stop starin at the virtual you
just hug me! N don forget the lipstick stains
its not too late you can always love me back

it’ll pour really hard i know lets just drenched alright?
And the sun will dry us out
we’ll sleep to moon’s lullaby

its not too late . . . trust me I’m never even dead
